Jonathan Comeau focuses on the development and characterization of Image Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy (ICCS), a technique whereby multiple fluorescent species are correlated in time and space to reveal any interactions present as well as providing quantitative dynamic measurements. ICCS is well suited for studying adhesion structure formation in living cells, which is an important process in both cell mobility and signaling. Development of ICCS could lead to answers to many biological questions that would otherwise be difficult to obtain by other techniques.
